About

Picture of me. My hair is pink and orange, I'm wearing dark purple glasses and a Minnesota Vikings Pride Skol t-shirt.

The name’s Jantien, born 1987. Born and raised in Rotterdam, the Netherlands but moved to Limerick, Ireland (again) in 2013. Mother of two human kids and one of the feline kind.

Avid bookworm, as I was raised by a bookworm family and my mother who supplied me with books and who took me to the library every Wednesday. Always wrote in journals as a child but got properly bitten by the writing bug as a teen, when LiveJournal and blogging became popular.

I have 4 chapters in the Mental Health For Millennials series by my publisher, Book Hub Publishing Group. The first chapter, in volume 4 “On Wellbeing“, is about homelessness. The second one, in volume 5 “On Resiliency” is about my Systemic Lupus Erythematosus diagnosis. The third one, in volume 6 “On Hope and Inclusion” is about my stillborn baby, Riley. The last one, in volume 7 “On Being in the Moment” is a love letter to my beloved Miss Marples.
